in women.

PCOS COMMON SYMPTOMS

Irregular periods

monthly ovulation is not occurring and levels of androgens (male hormones) are elevated. The condition occurs in approximately 5 to 10 percent of women.

Insulin resistance

High insulin levels can lead to excessive hunger. it is believed that insulin resistance may play a role in causing PCOS

Hair loss & body hair growth

mostly due to the excess androgenic hormones that people with PCOS often have, which can lead to acne, thinning hair, and hair loss.

Infertility

the hormonal imbalance interferes with the growth and release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation). If you don't ovulate, you can't get pregnant.

Follicles or cysts on ovaries

one or both ovaries can contain multiple small, immature ovarian follicles that can appear as cysts on medical imaging. Normally, ovarian follicles contain egg cells, which are released during ovulation.
